There are two items of good news to report this month. Firstly, the Sierra Leone government has accepted the Lifeline Junior and Senior Secondary Schools’ application for government financial assistance, although not immediately. Secondly, the Lifeline leadership team, together with its partners, especially Lifeline Network International, has completed the construction of an improved toilet facility
The Lifeline and Well Bodi teams toured the areas where the PAPAYA Project operates, engaging with community stakeholders in the Portree, Kuntorloh and Tombo communities. The teams continue to support pregnant women in attending antenatal care (ANC), having now registered over 200 pregnant women for weekly follow-ups. There are many success stories among these groups

The department’s management team has recruited the latest cohort of trainees into this technical and vocational institute, and we’re pleased to announce that they have all successfully completed the induction phase. Classes have now commenced across the ICT, Plumbing, Hospitality and Electrical Installation disciplines, augmented by life skills training and mentorships.
This department serves children and young adults in nursery, primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary schools. This year’s total enrolment is up to 600 children and young people across the Lifeline schools.

Concerning the Nehemiah Home, almost all the children and young people Lifeline supports, whether it be those resident in the Home or those living within the community, have resumed their schooling with exception of 3 young adults who are currently preparing to retake the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
